Matt Edwards and Sven Olsen first met in the fall of 1993 in Morris, MN where they attended the University of Minnesota. Aside from singing in the Concert Choir there, they also collaborated sporadically over the years, singing the odd classical duet, crafting adventurous Beatles medleys and even crafting an original song, "Three Sticks of Dynamite," an ode to folk hero John Henry. After graduation, they went their separate ways, hooking up again in the early 21st century in the Twin Cities area to play the occasional graduation party and neighborhood picnic. After years of talking about it, the two decided to record a Christmas CD, Christmas With The Homers. They chose the name The Homers in honor of their stay-at-home-mom wives. All proceeds from the Christmas CD will be donated to the Edwards and Olsen Families.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who's better at Ping Pong?

Matt is. Having played thousands of ping pong matches, Sven has yet to beat
Matt, although he's come agonizingly close.

Have the Homers ever appeared on stage together in a play?

Yes. Sven and Matt portrayed brothers in the ironically titled "The Best
Christmas Pageant Ever" on the Proscenium stage at the University of
Minnesota-Morris.

Are there any beers that Matt doesn't like?

Matt hates Java Stout beer, preferring all others.

Which Homer is older?

Although it baffles some, the distinguished Sven is actually younger than
the immature Matt.

What stuff does Sven do that annoys Matt?

Sven uses words like "distinguished" when he could just as well use words
like "bald." Matt finds such wordplay "immature." Sven ignores his
childish comments.
